Jugaad infrastructure
Thats the kind of infrastructure we have in India - totally jugaadu. Traffic is increasing - ok lets put up a red light. People speed on the roads - lets put a speed breaker here. Budget got sanctioned for a 3 lane road but a temple blocks two lanes - lets build a 3 lane road till the temple and let it be a one lane beyond the temple....Ju-bloody-gaad...jugaad. Our infrastructure epitomizes our jugaadu mentality. :-)In this day and age when it has be been proven worldwide that we need standards then why dont we have world class standards for infrastructure in India? No reason not too. www.iifcl.org is a waste if we dont have world class, uniformly laid out standards. Budgeting, planning and investing on infrastructure is a waste if we dont have world class standards.
How can we even compare ourselves to China? We are leagues behind them them in terms of infrastructure. Leagues is probably an understatement. F#@$ the bloody comparisons. Who is stopping us to not have standards? I just dont get it. Is it you and I who are so used to jugaad that we cant do without it now?

Jugaadu is the perfect word to describe our infrastructure implementation...
The real reason is People in power are not interested in any development. Infact Development is a non-issue in EVERY single election. Infact any govt. that has anything to do with Development is hastily voted out of power (Chandrababu Naidu - UP, SM Krishna - Karnataka, NDA - India). Uneducated teeeming masses (not their fault !) DO NOT care so much about development as for all other things. And this situation is nicely kept the way it is - by Politicos - by keeping people uneducated. Is Democracy really right for a Poor Country?
As for China - its a sick joke to compare india with China. China already put a man in space, india is discussing ChandraYaan and its greatness. We have plans, they have World Class Roads upto Tibet already! Sorry abt the long comment.
